WTF is this?

WTF Percussion is a Stockholm based percussion brand launched 23/03/23.

Our first instrument release was the Reco Electro, a remix of the traditional Brazilian scraper reco-reco. It features two dampened expansion springs on a steel chassi with a built in stereo piezo pickup system. It is meant to be used with effects to bring the concept of scraper instruments into the world of modern, processed sounds.

Our goal is to modernize the role of percussion in amplified music. Practicing your whole life and then triggering samples seems like a waste of time and ability, we want to put musical expression back in the hands of the musician, even if a heavily processed sound is your goal.

During 2023, we’ll be releasing at least one more instrument (fully original design) and several creative add-ons to standard instruments.

Aside from what’s already mentioned above, there’s two extremely complex designs in the pipeline. Only time will tell when those concepts are ready, but rest assured, they’re unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard before.

All our instruments are made of Swedish parts in Sweden, we believe that if our instruments fall to the floor, the floor should break.
